From 22 to 25 October, AMY - Art Meets You returns to Marrakech for a third edition. An independent art trail, it links museums, institutions, galleries, artists' studios and creative spaces across the city, with exhibitions, studio openings, talks and guided visits. For the first time, the Fondation Nationale des Musées takes part.
Four days across the city
On Thursday 22 October, the Medina trail opens the edition with the Musée du Patrimoine Immatériel de Jemaa El Fna and Nabili's exhibition "La Mémoire des Signes", the Noujoum cultural centre, the Musée des Arts de la Parure and the Deserted Photobooth, with the artist Zineb Bouchra. At 7 pm at Dar El Bacha, the opening talk "L'Atelier ouvert" brings professionals together around the path of an artwork, from the studio to its exhibition and acquisition.
On Friday 23 October, the trail moves to Gueliz: La Galerie 38 with Meriam Benkirane's exhibition, Galerie Siniya 28 with Yasmine Amal, Comptoir des Mines with a new exhibition by Hassan Bourkia, and Villa Some with Hajar Daide. The Bab Hotel shows the work of the two artists selected through AMY's first open call, Samir Toumi and Nadia Ouriachi Conejo.
On Saturday 24 October, the trail continues at MACAAL and at the Four Seasons Resort Marrakech, which hosts "Langage du geste" by Keya, in the artist's presence.
On Sunday 25 October, an invitation-only brunch at Jardin Ocre closes the edition.
Open studios
Throughout the weekend, artists open their studios: Yasmina Alaoui, Soumiya Jalal, Houda Kabbaj, Noureddine Chater and Abdessamia Bargamane. Meeting the artists and discovering their research, materials and processes is one of the central experiences of AMY. Studio visits are by reservation, with limited places.
Volunteer guides from the Turāth association also lead guided walks through the Medina, starting from Dar El Bacha, and through Gueliz, starting from La Galerie 38.
AMY's official digital guide brings together the participating venues, their locations, opening hours and programmes, so that each visitor can find their way around Marrakech and plan their own route.
