Marion Cotillard to preside over the jury of the Marrakech Film Festival

The French actress will lead the jury of the 23rd edition, from 20 to 28 November, awarding the Étoile d'or to a first or second feature.

The Oscar-winning French actress Marion Cotillard will preside over the jury of the 23rd Marrakech International Film Festival, from 20 to 28 November 2026. Under her presidency, the jury will award the Étoile d'or among the first and second feature films of the international competition (more on the festival).

"I have been lucky enough to come to the Marrakech Festival since its very beginnings, I have lived wonderful moments there and made beautiful encounters," she said on the announcement. "Accompanying filmmakers' first steps is an important act, it is the DNA of this festival, and it is a great joy for me to preside over its jury this year."

Trained at the Conservatoire d'art dramatique, she won the Oscar for best actress in 2008 for her role as Édith Piaf in La Môme, the second French actress to win it and the first to win an acting Oscar for a role played in French. Her career has taken her from Jacques Audiard, James Gray and the Dardenne brothers to Tim Burton, Christopher Nolan, Steven Soderbergh, Woody Allen and Leos Carax, whose Annette she led alongside Adam Driver.
