Café del Mar

This beach club on the Route de l'Ourika sits by its pool, with beds for lying out in the sun. Sunbathing and lunch come first. As the day goes on, the mood turns more festive, and there is always a DJ at the decks. Contemporary design sets a tone that aims to be elegant and lively at once, and the place works as well for a group of friends as for someone on their own. The menu carries the L'Istra name and was written by chef Clément, whose cooking takes a contemporary approach to Mediterranean and local flavours and relies on seasonal produce. Breakfast includes eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. The paella-style risotto with prawns and chorizo is one of the mains, and sushi arrives in mixed platters of up to 40 pieces. Champagne and cocktails both come by the magnum, and one of the signature cocktails, named Café del Mar, is built on rum and peach schnapps.
