Overview
BE Agafay sits in the rocky desert plateau forty minutes south-west of Marrakech, on the same Agafay landscape that has gradually become Marrakech's day-trip extension toward the dunes. The pool grounds carry the name The Oasis, set into the dry land with a deck that opens onto the wider valley. The water moves with the wind, the surface catching whatever the sky offers above. By midday the sun is hard, by late afternoon the light turns warm and the surrounding hills take on a dusty pink that lasts past sunset. Two restaurants serve the pool grounds at different hours. The Oasis runs through lunch, a two-course menu drawing from Moroccan, North African and international kitchens, plates landing at the lounger or at the deck table; the capacity is generous, the rhythm relaxed. The Hideaway opens for evening pool service, with three courses under the stars and a smaller seating for guests who want the camp at its quietest. The architecture stays low to the ground throughout, woven shade, simple materials, ochre tones, the entire camp shaped by what the desert already gives. Day passes are open to non-residents, with a lunch option and a separate evening option that combines pool access with dinner. The two formats give the property two different rhythms: an open midday by the water, a more intimate evening with the desert taking the temperature down. The kind of place where the desert reads as a setting rather than an excursion, and the pool sits at its centre.
