Overview
A gallery lit by a chandelier of brass discs opens into a riad in Rahba Lakdima, the old medina quarter near Jemaa el-Fna. More chandeliers hang at the entrance, designed in Milan by AntiMeridiam Design & Consultancy and made by hand by Moroccan artisans. Two large orange trees fill the courtyard, and the six bedrooms are set around them. Furniture and colours stay minimal and calm, with a fireplace at the centre of the patio, while the ceilings carved by hand and the wooden mashrabiya screens survived the renovation. Traditional Morocco mixes with a warm Italian welcome. The noise of the souk arrives muffled. Upstairs, a walkway with wrought iron details leads to some of the bedrooms and to a relaxation area by the pool. Two of the six are suites and two are junior suites. One suite works like a loft, lit through a glass ceiling, with the double bed on a mezzanine; another has its own staircase up to a private terrace. The rooftop terrace looks out to the Koutoubia minaret. A massage room is kept for guests, and breakfast is included. Dinners are served on reservation, and airport transfers and excursions can be arranged on request.
