Overview

Le Blokk sits on the Route des Jardins de la Palmeraie, a short taxi ride from the medina, and has spent years building a reputation as one of the most reliably entertaining dinner-show venues in the city. The concept is built around nightly live performance: a rotating cast of roughly twenty international artists, singers, dancers, musicians, and acrobats take the stage and work through a repertoire that runs from jazz and blues through soul, funk, gospel, salsa, disco, and oriental, with flamenco and tap dancers thrown in as the evening builds. Portraits of the legends who inspired it all line the walls: Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Barry White. The dining room is modern and design-driven, all warm lighting, plush seating, and clean contemporary lines that feel closer to a European supper club than a traditional Moroccan night out. The menu bridges Moroccan, international, and Japanese cuisines, and while the kitchen does not claim to be the draw, it holds up well alongside the spectacle. The lamb shank is the dish that gets mentioned most, tender and properly braised, and the sushi is fresh enough to stand on its own. Tagines, grilled fish with citrus rice, Atlantic lobster, and a seafood salad appetiser fill out a carte that covers most tastes. Wine and cocktails are served, and the cocktails in particular have drawn praise from visitors who came expecting to focus on the show. The entertainment runs until the early hours, and the dance floor fills as the music shifts from classic repertoire to more contemporary sets later in the evening. It draws families, couples, and groups celebrating birthdays and special occasions in roughly equal measure.
