Overview
Palais Namaskar sits on over twelve acres of gardens, lakes, and palm groves on the Route de Bab Atlas, a world away from the medina despite being only a half-hour drive from its gates. The architecture draws on Feng Shui principles, blending Asian and Moorish lines with contemporary interiors across forty-one rooms, suites, villas, and palaces, most with their own pool. But it is the Sunday brunch that opens this private estate to the wider city, and it has become one of the most sought-after weekly rituals in Marrakech. The format is a Mediterranean buffet set in the gardens and around the pool, with dishes prepared by the hotel's kitchen under Executive Chef Khalid El Goumani. Meats, grilled fish, salads, cheeses, tagines, couscous, risottos, and a full spread of desserts are laid out using seasonal produce sourced from local suppliers. A duo of guitarists plays through the afternoon, keeping the mood somewhere between poolside indulgence and garden party, and the brunch ticket includes access to the hotel's main swimming pool and the kids' club. The setting alone justifies the drive. Five acres of tranquil lakes reflect the surrounding palms, walkways are threaded through flowering gardens, and the Atlas Mountains hold the far horizon. Guests drift between the buffet, the pool, and the shaded loungers at a pace that the medina does not permit. It is a full day more than a meal, designed for those who want to step out of the city entirely without leaving Marrakech. Arriving before one o'clock is required, and booking in advance is essential.
