Overview
Montecristo has held its ground on Rue Ibn Aïcha since 2004, which makes it something close to an institution in a city where nightlife venues come and go with the seasons. The format is simple and effective: four spaces stacked under one roof in the heart of Guéliz, each with its own rhythm, so the evening can unfold without ever stepping back onto the street. It starts with dinner on the upper floor, where the restaurant serves an international menu with a pronounced French accent alongside Moroccan staples. Beef carpaccio, grilled meats, and tagines share the card with a wine list that balances local and imported labels. The room is warmly lit and deliberately cosy, set for a slow meal rather than a quick bite. From there, the Sinatra Bar picks up the pace with live bands working through soul, jazz, blues, and rock standards every night, the kind of room where a good cocktail and a cigar feel perfectly in place. Higher still, the Skyy Club opens its rooftop terrace to the night air, with deep seating, shisha, and lounge music that gradually tilts toward a clubbing pulse as the hours pass. And for those still standing, the nightclub on the lower level keeps resident DJs spinning until well past dawn. The crowd is mixed, young, well-dressed, and split between Marrakchis and visitors who have learned where to go. Montecristo does not try to be subtle. It is a place built for long, loud, convivial nights, and after two decades it still fills the role with ease.
