Overview
Malak Emeraude sits on the first floor at the intersection of Boulevard Mohammed VI and Boulevard de la Menara, a prime corner in Hivernage with a terrace that opens onto the Atlas Mountains and the city lights below. The arrival is choreographed from the pavement: valets take the car, attendants hold the elevator, and hostesses walk you to your table. The interior plays on contrasts, mixing Art Deco glamour with rock-edged details and Moroccan warmth, all arranged around a central stage that becomes the focal point as the evening builds. Chef Zakia runs the kitchen, turning out a weekly-rotating set menu that moves between Moroccan and French registers. Pastilla is the opening act, and it is one of the better versions in the city. Mains range from beef fillet with cep jus and potato galette to slow-cooked tanjia, with duck in sweet sauce and mechwi appearing in regular rotation. The cooking is generous, well-presented, and calibrated to an evening where the table is only part of the experience. The artistic programme runs through dinner without interruption: a live band alternates between Arabic, French, and English sets, belly dancers and performers cycle through the room, and the atmosphere moves from elegant supper to full celebration as the night deepens. A shisha lounge offers a slower gear for those who want to linger after the show.
