Overview
The Sunday Brunch at La Mamounia unfolds at the Pavillon de la Piscine, a poolside pavilion modelled on the city's own Menara, set within eight hectares of gardens where orange trees, palms, and a 1,500-square-metre kitchen garden supply the kitchen daily. It is one of the most talked-about weekly rituals in Marrakech, and it is open to anyone with a reservation, not only hotel guests. The format is a lavish buffet arranged across a series of themed counters. A seafood station lays out fresh oysters, shellfish, lobster, and prawns alongside fish cooked to order. The rotisserie turns whole birds and roasts meats that are carved in front of you, while salad stations draw on herbs and vegetables harvested from the hotel's own plot. A generous cheese display follows, and the sweet finale belongs to the hotel's resident pâtissier, whose dessert buffet features tarts, signature chocolate cakes, macarons, and ice creams that draw a crowd of their own. Freshly squeezed orange and grapefruit juices are poured throughout, and champagne is available for those inclined. Tables are set under wide parasols beside the pool, with misters cooling the air and palm fronds filtering the light. The mood is relaxed but elegant, with an enforced dress code that matches the setting. For a city where weekend dining options tend toward the understated, this is the opposite: a proper, abundant, unapologetically theatrical midday affair.
