Overview
Dar Moha occupies a historic riad on Rue Dar El Bacha in the medina, a building with serious provenance. The courtyard remains the centrepiece: tables are set around a zellige-tiled pool fed by a stone fountain, flanked by orange trees, palms, and thick greenery that muffles the city beyond the walls. Inside, gilded salons lit by a Baccarat chandelier and lined with works of art offer a second, more intimate register. The kitchen is widely credited with being among the first in Marrakech to modernise traditional Moroccan gastronomy: ancestral recipes served in smaller, tasting-style portions, with technique refined but flavours left unapologetically Moroccan. The set dégustation menu opens with a procession of warm and cold starters, moves through pastilla and into tagines and couscous, then closes with spiced desserts. The a la carte follows a similar arc but allows you to choose your own path. In warmer months, live musicians perform poolside as the evening unfolds. For a meal that connects Moroccan tradition with contemporary ambition inside one of the medina's most storied courtyards, Dar Moha has held its place since 1998.
