Overview

L'Epicurien sits within the Es Saadi Resort complex, within the Casino de Marrakech, in the garden-rich enclave of Hivernage. The concept is straightforward and well-executed: a restaurant-lounge that opens in the evening and stays open considerably later than most of the city, pairing an international kitchen with a live band that performs through the week. The band is the room's center of gravity. The music spans soul and contemporary forms, and the ensemble performs with real energy, the kind that spills from the stage into the dining area and gradually turns eating into background. As the night deepens, a DJ takes over, the room shifts into a more club-like register, and the crowd reorganizes accordingly. The kitchen, meanwhile, keeps running well past dinner service, which makes L'Epicurien one of the few places in Marrakech where a late arrival at the table is not only possible but entirely correct. The setting within the Es Saadi grounds gives the venue particular breathing room: palm-lined paths and low garden walls insulating it from the street outside. The decor is warm and slightly theatrical, deep seating and surfaces that absorb light rather than reflect it. A creative cocktail bar anchors the back of the room. The result is a venue that functions as restaurant, concert space, and club in sequence, without any jarring transition between the three. Late arrivals, of which there are many, find the kitchen still running and the floor still moving.
