Riad Due

Riad Due is a four-room property in the Medina of Marrakech, its intimacy a function of a building size that has been converted with the care that small-scale operations permit and large ones make difficult. The two full suites are individually conceived: one features a free-standing copper bathtub, oversized lanterns, and a coloured king-size bed that sets the chromatic register of the room; the other, on the ground floor, offers a carved wooden ceiling, blue-black marble floors, and a bathroom that gives a choice between a marble tub and a walk-in shower open to the sky above. The plunge pool in the courtyard is lantern-lit and finished in a deep-sea blue, sized for cooling rather than for lap-swimming, and configured to work best after dark when the courtyard light and the water's colour are in productive relation. The hammam and gommage treatments are available within the property, the in-room spa services extending the wellness offer without requiring the riad to expand its physical footprint. A library and CD selection contribute the analogue quietness that the building's four-room scale makes possible and that digital hospitality cannot replicate.
