Kasbah d'If

Kasbah d'If sits on a hilltop in the Agafay Desert, elevated enough above the surrounding plateau to command a three-hundred-and-sixty-degree view of the stone landscape and the Atlas Mountains at every point of the compass. The property opened in 2025, its design combining Moroccan craft traditions with material precision: handmade furniture and carved ceilings executed with an attention to detail that carries through from the public spaces into the bathrooms, finished in marble with high-end fixtures and showers of generous dimension. Selected suites include a traditional bhou, the enclosed Moroccan seating alcove, and private jacuzzi terraces that face the desert at whatever hour the guest chooses to use them, the terrain below absorbing the sound and the light with equal indifference to the hour. The infinity pool uses dark ceramics in a blue-black palette that produces a mirror effect at the surface, the reflection engaging with the sky and the ridge lines visible below in a way that a lighter finish could not. Stargazing from this altitude and at this distance from city light is reliable rather than occasional: the Milky Way is visible on most clear nights. Horse-riding across the plateau, guided desert discovery walks, and cultural visits to nearby Berber villages extend the experience outward into the landscape. The spa provides the interior counterpoint.
