Overview
Kasbah Beldi rises on a hillside above the Lalla Takerkoust reservoir, a property positioned where the lake and the Atlas Mountains meet in a horizon that changes character through the day as the light shifts across the water and the ridge lines above it. Nineteen rooms and nine lodges compose the accommodation, each room opening onto a private terrace with en-suite bathroom, the views falling over the gardens and lake below. The lodges offer additional space and a greater sense of separation from the main building, their terraces extending the outside into the living arrangement in a way that suits those who want the property without the hotel dynamic. Two large swimming pools anchor the outdoor life: one heated through the cooler months, the other maintained at a temperature that provides relief in summer. A children's pool operates alongside them, the three together giving the property a range of water that suits the range of guests it attracts. The hillside position brings consistent breeze that the valley floor lacks, and the views from every terrace take in the lake's surface catching light at angles that shift as the sun moves across the Atlas above. The spa operates a traditional hammam alongside massage rooms, the treatments providing the interior dimension of a property whose primary draws are outdoors. Kasbah Beldi is a Marrakech escape that achieves distance from the city without requiring a difficult journey: the reservoir and the mountains perform the psychological transition, and the accommodation provides the substance.
