Overview
Farasha Farmhouse sits on a plateau thirty minutes from Marrakech, positioned between two mountain ranges in a landscape that was chosen for the quality of its light and the balance of its terrain. The building is small and deliberate: two upper suites, a garden-facing bedroom, and a detached casita grouped around a central open-plan space of lounge, dining room, and show kitchen, the arrangement designed for shared living at the scale of a house rather than a hotel. Four hundred and fifty olive trees frame the property, their canopy providing shade and sound without enclosing the views. Paths through the garden are scattered with argan nut shells underfoot; lantana plantings attract butterflies in season. A fifty-metre pool with private alcoves and shaded daybeds extends the outdoor architecture toward the water. The farm is regenerative and productive, supplying the kitchen with produce that changes the menu with the growing cycle. Contemporary art selected from Moroccan and international sources appears throughout the building, the selection oriented toward work that engages the landscape rather than merely decorating the walls. Farasha operates with the logic of a creative residency as much as a place to sleep: guests are invited to be present in the farm, the garden, and the pool as participants rather than observers The plateau location means sunsets fall across a wide horizon, with no competing roofscape or power line to interrupt the view from the terrace.
